ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Bellingham came up through Birmingham City's academy before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2020. But before getting his big break in Germany and joining Real Madrid in 2023, he was coached by Dodds in the Blues' youth setup. And on Monday, the England international paid him a visit at Wycombe's stadium, where the 39-year-old is now head coach.

WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID
In an Instagram story, Bellingham wrote: "Doddsy," accompanied by a blue heart and the 'top' emoji. Wycombe also thanked the 22-year-old, who is currently sporting a cast after undergoing surgery on a dislocated shoulder, for his support.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Thanks to Dodds' help, Bellingham is now, arguably, one of the best midfielders in the world. He has starred for Borussia Dortmund, Madrid, and England, and much of that may be down to the coaching he received at Birmingham. Now, Dodds is getting his first managerial role after working at City and as a coach at Sunderland – and Bellingham appears to be all for it.

WHAT NEXT?
Dodds is just weeks away from pitting himself against other League One managers as Wycombe prepare for the new season, while Bellingham will continue to step up his rehab as he targets a return to action soon for Madrid.
